The Ffestiniog Railway has two main shops - one at Porthmadog and the other at Blaenau Ffestiniog – There are also a small selection of toys games and souvenirs available from Tan Y Bwlch. as well as a web shop. We’ve given all our shops a makeover recently and we have some new and exciting products for sale.
All of the shops sell a wide range of gifts and souvenirs of the railway. Whether it’s your first visit to the railway or you’re a hardened enthusiast; whether you are 6 months or 60 years old - there is something here for everyone.

We sell Books and DVDs about our railways but we also have a wide range of titles covering narrow-gauge railways the world over. We also specialise in narrow-gauge railway models with an emphasis on ‘009’ Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways prototypes. Our range is expanding all the time and presently includes items from Parkside Dundas, Langley Miniature Models, Chivers Finelines, Chris Veitch, PECO, ROCO, Bachmann, Fleischmann, Auhagen, Preiser, Gaugemaster, Wills, Ratio, Cooper Craft and John Fozard. We have also recently taken delivery of a fully finished and painted Slater’s Plastikard 16mm/foot Prince which is on display in the Booking Hall display cabinet. We will be selling the kit and other Slater’s products very soon.

We have a good range of quality, branded clothing items from manufacturers including ‘Fruit of the Loom’ and ‘Jerzees’. All the clothes we sell are uniquely available from our shops and have embroidered historic FR crests, or FR logos, on them. They range from brightly coloured children’s T-shirts through polo shirts, sweat shirts and fleeces - in both adult and children’s sizes - to classy weatherproof jackets. Our shops sell a good range of quality gifts and souvenirs to suit all tastes and pockets. We stock a huge variety of postcards of the railways and the surrounding area, plus related transport and nostalgia topics. We publish our own range of cards with fresh pictures of our trains every year so that you can always find a picture of ‘your’ locomotive to send home.

Children are well catered for with an extensive range of toys with a railway theme. We carry every ‘Take-along Thomas’ character toy and loads of other ‘Thomas the Tank Engine’ merchandise. ‘Ivor the Engine’ is also making a comeback and we have an expanding range of memorabilia featuring ‘Ivor’ - including DVDs, Books, Pens, Pencils, Soft Toys etc. We also sell games to play on the journey too - in case the scenery is not enough to amuse some of our younger travellers.

If you need a box of fudge or something more interesting to take back home to give to Gran, or a neighbour, you will find something here to suit everyone’s taste. We also stock Penderyn Whisky - a finest quality single malt made in Wales, where whisky was invented. We also sell gift packs of Purple Moose beer which is brewed in Porthmadog and is also on sale on our trains and in Spooner’s Bar. Don’t forget to treat yourself either - all of the station shops sell soft drinks, sweets and ice-creams!

The Web Shop has been on line for a couple of years now and has recently had a bit of a face lift and has had many new products added. We add items all the time so it’s always worth popping back for a look. If you think of something we don’t seem to sell let us know and we might in the future.
